Drill n Fill and Deep Drill 60/18 aerators can bring dramatic improvements to golf green turf.

These unique aerators can make a major contribution towards the green's ability to withstand the demands of a prolonged playing season and adverse winter weather. Reducing waterlogging and flooding will allow the green to stay in play. This not only minimises temporary pin placements, it also produces greens of a higher standard earlier in the spring. Similarly, excess water from torrential downpours will disappear faster, resulting in fewer closures and cancellations. Greens will be finer and firmer.
The aerators operate throughout the ranges of:
11-16cm hole to hole spacings
2-45cm duct depths
1-3cm diameter drills
The Ecosol System does not create uneven surfaces, rippling or areas of subsidence detrimental to play. The result is a perfect surface capable of accommodating play within hours of the work's completion.

The Deep Drill 60/18 Aerator can bring dramatic improvements to cricket square turf, eliminating sparse grass growth, uneven bounce, divoting and compaction.

This unique aerator can improve the square's ability to withstand the demands of an intense playing season and difficult summer weather. Modern square construction using stronger loam often leads to difficulty in conventional aeration without surface damage. Insufficient root penetration is a major problem.

The Deep Drill will encourage deeper rooting, resulting in healthy grass growth and a stronger soil structure. The machine gently removes soil from the holes, relieving compaction and creating a channel that penetrates through any layering or breaks. It aerates in conditions where machines such as the punch spiker cannot operate. .

The grass' natural geotropic response leads to roots developing and bridging the breaks and loam layers, encouraging mobile soil platelets to knit together. This action creates a denser soil profile that produces greater ball bounce and quickening of pace. "Low and slow" wickets can be transformed and grass health reinvigorated.

The Drill n Fill Aerator can bring dramatic improvements to bowling green turf.

These unique aerators can improve the green’s ability to withstand appalling winter weather.  Reducing the incidence of waterlogging and flooding  on the green will lead to earlier, stronger and more vigorous growth in the Spring. This then produces greens of a higher standard, even earlier.  Similarly, torrential mid-season downpours will disappear faster, resulting in fewer closures and cancellations.

  • Drill, extract, aerate and backfill all in one action!
  • Break through clay bands, thatch, black layer and other zones that cause waterlogging.
  • Accelerate water movement away from the green’s surface down vertical drainage channels into the gravel carpet or clinker layer beneath.
  • Hold open the vertical ducts by using the Drill n Fill Aerator’s unique ability to backfill them with a free-draining sand or sand/amendment blend…so the improvement lasts for years.
  • Increase plant health and vigour by improving nutrient infiltration, percolation and gas exchange up to 325mm deep.
  • Improve water penetration, reducing the green's susceptibility to dry patch.

FootballRacecourses/Polo

The clatter of metal-shod feet at full gallop pose their own maintenance challenge for racecourse and polo ground staff. This task is made near impossible if there is serious compaction, surface flooding and poor root growth.

Ecosol Turfcare are able to help with the revolutionary Drill n Fill aerator. This can penetrate problem areas to relieve compaction, insert permanent drainage ducts and backfill with soil amendment which improves the rootzone and encourages grass growth.

Where over-hard surfaces are the issue, we use the Shockwave decompactor to relieve pressure. In addition, soil relieving can break through hard pans, improve grass growth and introduce more oxygen into the soil. This is vital for root survival.

Satisfied customers include Brighton and Fontwell racecourses and Beaufort Polo Club.
